Jar Ingredients:
"Cafe Au Lait Ole!"
Mint Coffee Mix in a Jar
1/2 cup powdered nondairy
creamer
1/2 cup buttermints, slightly
crushed
1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
2/3 cup instant coffee
Peppermint candies
Remaining Ingredients:
2/3 cup boiling water
This coffee mix will fill two 1-pint glass food storage jars.
In a medium bowl, stir together nondairy creamer, buttermints, powdered sugar and nonfat dry milk powder. Divide this mixture and pour half into each of the two jars. Divide the instant coffee and pour half into each of the two jars. Top off the jars with the peppermint candies, enough to fill the jars, and seal.
Decorate the jars with pretty fabric and ribbons as you desire. Attach a card with the instructions on how to prepare this Café au Lait. The jars can be stored in a cool, dry place for up to one month. There is enough mix in each jar to make about 5 servings.
To make the Café au Lait, remove the Peppermint candies from the jar and set aside. Place 1/4 cup of the dry mix in a mug. Add 2/3 cup boiling water (or enough to fill the mug). Stir until the mix dissolves. Serve with the Peppermint candies.
