                                          Mulled Tea Bags

If you love flavored teas, but are looking for something different, you can easily make your own. Here’s a recipe for Mulled Tea Bags that you can whip up in no time. They are flavorful and fun to make, and would be perfect for a holiday Afternoon Tea.

3 teaspoons loose black tea
3 whole allspice berries
1 teaspoon crushed cinnamon
    stick
2 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
Fine mesh cheesecloth
Cotton string

Cut a 6" square of cheesecloth. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl.
Place the ingredients in the center of the cheesecloth. Bring the corners of the cheesecloth together and tie into a pouch with the cotton string.
To brew a cup of Mulled Tea, place the tea bag into a tea cup or mug and add approximately 1 cup of boiling water. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
To embellish the tea and add even more flavor, serve it with orange honey and cinnamon sticks on the side. Your guests can fix their cup the way they like it.

These Mulled Tea Bags would make wonderful holiday presents. Prepare several and put them in a decorative tin or container. Place the container in a basket along with some holiday napkins, a jar of honey, a wooden honey dipper and some cinnamon sticks tied with a pretty ribbon. Anyone on your gift list would love to receive such a wonderful Afternoon Tea present like this, and you can say you made it entirely yourself!
