"Blindfolded By Your Beauty"

Napkin Folding

Here are some beautiful napkin-folding techniques that are a snap to do and will turn your afternoon tea table into a fashionable tea room setting.  (Thicker weight fabrics will work best for napkin folding such as cotton or linen.  If you use polyester napkins, starch them first and iron at the hottest setting.)

The Tulip Fold

1)  Place the napkin flat in front of you, wrong side up, with one point facing you.  Fold the napkin in half, top point down, to form a triangle.

2)  Fold the right point down to meet the bottom point.

3)  Fold the left point down to meet the bottom point.

4)  Fold the top point down to within 1" of the bottom point.

5)  Fold that same point back up to the center of the top edge.

6)  Turn the napkin over and place the straight side nearest you.  Bring the right and left corners together and tuck the left corner into the right corner.

7)  Stand the napkin up and round out the base so it won't fall over.  Pull down the right tip, then the left tip, to form the petals of the tulip.
