                         "Spice Up Your Life"

With Valentine’s Day looming on the horizon, there’s no better way to add a little spice to your life than with these Spicy Sweet Cookies. You’ll win his heart all over again when you whip up a batch of these adorable heart-shaped cookies.

1 package refrigerated sugar
    cookie dough
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
32 drops red food coloring
4 oz. bittersweet chocolate,

melted
2 oz. white chocolate, melted

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large bowl, beat the cookie dough, flour, chili poweder and food coloring with an electric mixer on low for 1 minute or until combined.

Place the dough between two pieces of parchment paper. Roll the dough to 1/4" thickness.

Using a 2-1/2" heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 16 cookies. Place the cookies on cookie sheets. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely on racks.

Dip half of each cookie into the melted bittersweet chocolate (hold the cookies horizontally for dipping so that the line of chocolate runs vertically down the center of the cookies). Place back onto the cooling racks. Pour the melted white chocolate into a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag; snip off one corner. Drizzle the white chocolate back and forth across the cookies. Chill until firm.

If the chili powder in these cookies doesn’t warm his heart, a cup of Stash’s Honeybush Tea will do the trick. It’s a herbal infusion from South Africa that has a uniquely smooth and delicate flavor with slightly spicy undertones and a sweet aftertaste. He’ll be down on one knee before the cookie plate is empty!
