"Where the Art and Elegance of Taking Tea is Treasured"

                        "Cupid's Confections"

Picture it. You wake up early on Valentine’s Day and sneak into the kitchen while your significant other is still sleeping. You bake up a batch of Chocolate Cherry Scones. The kitchen smells divine as you carefully set up a bed tray with a plate of your freshly baked scones and a pot of piping hot tea served on your best china. You tiptoe back to the bedroom and surprise your loved one with a delicious and decadent Valentine’s breakfast. With this kind of spoiling, you will be locked in their heart for life.

2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter,
    softened
1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese,

softened
1/2 cup chopped dried cherries
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1/3 cup heavy cream
1-1/2 teaspoons almond extract

Preheat oven to 375E. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Using a pastry blender (or two knives), cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Stir in the cream cheese, cherries and chocolate chips.
In a separate bowl, combine heavy cream and almond extract. Add to the flour mixture, stirring just enough to moisten the dry ingredients.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to 3/4" thickness. Using a muffin or cookie cutter, cut out the scones. A heart-shaped cutter would be perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 13-15 minutes until light golden brown. Makes 12 scones.

You will fall in love all over again when you bite into these chocolately tart scones and indulge in a cup of Celestial Seasonings’ Vanilla Hazelnut Dessert Tea. It’s a creamy taste of a nutty treat that is flavored with smooth, velvety vanilla. So snuggle in and luxuriate on the most romantic morning of the year.
