                      "In Your Easter Bonnet"

When this fanciful time of year rolls around, one of our favorite things to do is to don our most festive Easter Bonnet and parade around for all to see. Well, a tasty alternative to this old-fashioned tradition is to whip up a batch of these adorable Easter Bonnet cookies. There’s no baking involved, and they’re easy enough for your children to join in on the fun.

Cookie
6 large homemade or store
    bought sugar cookies
    (can substitute chocolate
chip or any other variety of
    cookie)
1 can vanilla frosting
6 round coconut covered cakes
    (Sno Balls)

Decorations
Licorice ropes
Gumdrops
Candy dots and buttons
Tubes of colored icing

Spread the vanilla frosting on the cookies to cover them.
Place one of the coconut cakes in the center of each cookie and press it into the frosting to set it in place.
Decorate the cookies to look like Easter Bonnets. Wrap a piece of licorice around the base of the coconut cake and tie in a bow. Place gum drops in a decorative pattern around the "brim" (on the iced bottom cookie). Put candy dots or buttons on the coconut cake in a design to decorate the "crown" of the Easter Bonnet. You can also use colored icing to decorate these cute little hats.

You will be the hit of your neighborhood when you invite your friends in for a cup of Stash’s Vanilla Earl Grey tea and a plate of edible Easter Bonnets. But, watch out! The Easter Bunny himself may show up and hop away with these goodies himself!
