Believe it or not, rich, creamy chocolate cheesecake can be good for you. Or at least this version is. Made with applesauce and Neufchatel Cheese, the calories and fat content are much less compared to the traditional version. So eat hearty and enjoy!
1 pkg. brownie mix
1/2 cup applesauce
2 egg whites
1 egg white
1/4 cup water
1 (8 oz.) pkg. Neufchatel Cheese
(1/3 less fat than
cream cheese), softened
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 13"x9" baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, applesauce, two egg whites and water. Pour the mixture into the baking pan.
Mix the cheese, sugar, flour and remaining egg white until well blended. Spoon over the brownie mixture. Cut through the batter with a knife several times to create a marbling effect.
Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs attached. Cool in the pan. Cut into 2"x3" pieces. Makes 32 brownies.
Put a kettle of water on the stove to boil, and brew a pot of Stash’s White Chocolate Macadamia Nut tea. You’ll be glad you did.
