                    "On a Crisp Autumn Day"

    When the cold winds of Autumn are blowing, there is nothing more satisfying than a warm, sweet treat.  Oat Berry Crisp, served with a piping hot cup of tea, is just the ticket.  Made with healthy ingredients like rolled oats, yogurt, honey and pecans, you will laugh at the blustery sky. 
 

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup packed light brown
    sugar
1/3 cup chopped toasted pecans
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 stick (4 tablespoons)
    unsalted butter,
   
cut into 1" pieces
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup honey,
   
plus additional for drizzling
4 cups mixed berries
1/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1-1/2 teaspoons water


    Preheat oven to 375EF. To make topping, in a bowl stir together oats, brown sugar, pecans, flour and salt. Cut in butter pats until no clumps remain (a pastry cutter works well). Set topping aside. 
    In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt and 1/4 cup honey. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. 
    In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine berries, sugar, cornstarch and water. Cook, stirring occasionally, until berries release juices (approximately 5-10 minutes). Increase the heat to medium and simmer until thickened (another 5-10 minutes). Transfer berry mixture to a ceramic loaf pan.
    Sprinkle oat topping over the fruit mixture. Set the dish on a baking sheet, and bake for about 25 minutes or until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden brown. 
    Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes. Spoon the Oat Berry Crisp into two bowls and drizzle with the yogurt mixture and additional honey.   Serves 2.
