It’s that time of year again when blushing brides get ready to walk down the aisle. June brides will certainly blush when they see a tier of these Walnut Tea Cakes on their Bridal Shower Afternoon Tea table. Coated in confectioners’ sugar, these buttons of heavenly sweetness will propose matrimony to your taste buds.

1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon walnut extract
2-1/4 cups flour
3/4 cups chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 400E. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, beat the butter and confectioners’ sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Stir in the vanilla and walnut extracts.
Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture, mixing just to combine. Fold in the walnuts.
Form the mixture into 1" mounds (use a generous teaspoon to scoop out). Place them onto the baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly brown.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar while still warm. Cool for 15 minutes and remove to wire racks to cool completely.
